Ryan Phelps CFP™
Ryan is the Co-Founder and Director of Hartford Wealth, a Partner Practice of St. James’s Place Wealth Management. His financial career commenced in 2007, after studying at the University of Birmingham, embarking into the banking world with a large FTSE 100 company.
Ryan was quickly fast-tracked on an intense Wealth Management programme where he qualified as a regulated Wealth Manager in 2010. Progression led him to work for National IFA Firm, Chase de Vere, for several years before becoming an Equity Partner at True Potential Wealth Management LLP from 2013 to 2019, during which time a minority share was sold to a large US Private Equity firm.
With a desire to create his own community-centric advisory firm alongside his wife Michelle, Ryan accepted an invitation to join the prestigious St. James’s Place Partnership and launch Hartford Wealth in 2019.
Ryan places a strong emphasis on building long-term trusted relationships, recognising that each individual, business and family is unique. Ryan provides bespoke financial planning advice based around your financial needs and lifestyle aspirations, utilising modern technology and Voyant Cashflow Modelling helping to deliver exceptional outcomes. The success of any wealth management strategy is dependent on it remaining fit for purpose, which is why having a regular review schedule is critical when you are aiming to achieve long term success. Review meetings are carefully prepared and held at the main office in Hartford, an individual’s home or at a location convenient to clients.
Ryan was included in the 2021 and 2022 Guide To The UK’s Top Rated Financial Advisers (produced by VouchedFor), which was featured in The Times. Ryan was highly commended and voted as one of the top advisers in the North West of England.
Ryan is a Chartered Wealth Manager and Certified Financial Planner (CFP™) professional with 15 years combined experience in Banking and Wealth Management. He is also a Chartered Fellow (Financial Planning) of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). In addition to these Ryan has a specialist Long Term Care qualification with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) to assist elderly clients and families manage their Estates in the most efficient manner.
Outside of work, Ryan is a keen football and rugby fan and enjoys wine tasting, holidays abroad, eating out and spending time with his wife Michelle and their two children, Sebastian and Harper.
